Abstract


Leadership in nursing is the use of a leader's (nurse) skills in influencing other nurses under his supervision for the division of tasks and responsibilities in providing nursing care services so that the goal of nursing is achieved. There are five leadership functions including planning, organizing, manpower, direction and supervision. Of a number of management functions, supervision is one of the most important functions in achieving the goals of management it self. Other management functions such as planning, organizing, implementation will not work properly if the supervisory function is not done well. The purpose of this study is To analyze the effect of leadership direction and head room competence on the performance of nurses in the inpatient ward in the implementation of the Model of Professional Nursing Care Method. This research was conducted at Port of Jakarta Hospital. The sample used is 78 people. Data was collected through interviews, surveys and questionnaires. This research uses non descriptive analytic descriptive research type, with quantitative approach, correlation analysis with cross sectional approach. The result of this research is expected to show the effect of leadership directive function and head room competence on the performance of nurse implementing in applying Model of Professional Nursing Care Method at Inpatient Hospital of Port of Jakarta.
