THE EFFECT OF EDUCATIONAL HEALTH WITH A LEAFLET MEDIA ON MOTHER KNOWLEDGE ABOUT SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS URINARY TRACT INFECTIONS ON 2017

Abstract


Background: Urinary tract infection is a condition that can not be ignored because the incidence is still quite high, which is about 5.2% , whereas from patients who seek medical advice 0,5-l% showed symptoms of urinary tract infection. Incidence in adult women (5%) more than in men and children, while in elderly are more increased and reaches 20-50%. High frequency in women is caused by several factors, one of which is because the female urethral anatomy is shorter so it is easily contaminated by germs around the perianal. Objective: To know Effect of Education Health With a Leaflet Media on Mother  Knowledge About Signs and Symptoms of Urinary Tract Infection at UPTD Puskesmas Dukupuntang Year 2017. Method: The method used is pre experiment with one group pretest posttest, sampling using accidental sampling amounted to 48 respondents. Data were analyzed by paired t test. The research instrument used is a standardized questionnaire of knowledge and given to the respondents before and after health education. Result: this study shows that there is influence of health education with media of counseling to mother's knowledge level about urinary tract infection at UPTD Puskesmas Dukupuntang Year 2017, marked by number of respondents who have good knowledge (76,7%) bigger with less knowledge (6 , 7%) and knowledge (16.7%). Conclusions and Suggestions: From the results of the study can be concluded that there is the influence of Education Health With a Leaflet Media on Mother  Knowledge About Signs and Symptoms of Urinary Tract Infection at UPTD Puskesmas Dukupuntang Year 2017. It is expected that further research can be a preliminary data for further research developments with different variables.
